Timing is everything

Sometimes I think of how time flies. Actually five years ago I can recall what I was thinking and how my mind was and it does feel like 3 years instead of 5.

Say my son is 18 months and I’ll do a double take. I can remember his birth and all the drama around it like it was yesterday.

I turned 34 yesterday. Yes, I have lived on earth for over a billion seconds. Please don’t ask me what I have accomplished in this long time in my life. Don’t even ask what I’ve accomplished in the first eight months of 2016. Please, don’t.

Time is valuable. If you leave the cake in the oven too long it will get burnt. If you soak the beans for the akara (beans cake) too much it will become soft for the moi moi variety (boiled, but fried).

When you are asked to do something for someone, it could be an assignment at the office, a money transfer to be made, an appointment to keep, a date with a pretty girl, a flight to catch. It’s the timing that makes it everything, that makes it worth it.

I love to learn. I love to teach. For me the two are the same.
