Overcoming what frightens you the most strengthens you the most.”

Darn, this year moved so fast. We are already entering another year. I think this year was all about personal growth, believing in myself, understanding my strengths, weaknesses and limit. I am done trying to fit myself into a non-existent box.
Travelling: I got to travel a lot this year. I had a mental list this year when I started and I am proud to have ticked off places from that list. I visited the following places amongst other places:
- Matsirga Waterfalls, Kaduna
- Erin Ijesha, Osun
- Arinta Waterfalls, Ekiti
- Ikogosi WarmSprings, Ekiti
- Idanre Hills, Ondo
- Ado-Awaye Mountains, Oyo
I intend exploring a lot more in 2017. I have got the following places in mind:
- Yankari Game Reserve, Bauchi
- Awhum Caves, Enugu
- Ngwo Pine Forest, Enugu
- Ogbunike Caves, Anambra etc.
Right now, I feel like Nigeria Tourism is the way forward and I want to be part of the people to champion that movement.
Photography: I picked up a professional camera for the first time this year and I am loving it. I want to specialize in Travel Photography. I feel like it’s different from the norm and not many Nigerians are into it. I think this is the perfect opportunity to make a mark. I am going to use 2017 in developing and honing my photography skills.
CyberSecurity: I got to participate in this year’s Global Cyberlympics competition (The World’s First Global Hacking Competition) aimed at raising awareness in Information Security through Ethical Hacking. It was AMAZING…. My team came third in Africa (sadly we did not move on the finals) but I am glad I got to participate in it. I am looking forward to next year’s edition.
Love: Single again. I never esperedit.
Career: We are climbing up the ladder one step at a time. Guess who is getting noticed (the good kind) at work? Me J J
Friendship: The circle reduced this year. However, I am thankful for those who have stuck with me, motivated me and kept me in check. I really need to be a better friend next year tho.
Driving: I started this year praying for a car. Then I got a car, now no confidence to drive on Lagos road LOL
Miracle: My younger sister had a brain surgery this year. It was a really scary experience for my family. Today, you would not believe she had a surgery six months ago. She is 100% healthy and she is working already. Miracles do happen.
Spiritually: I need to work more in this area.
Hey! If you need a travel buddy in 2017 for the locations you mentioned, I’m your guy! In October, I visited 3 of the locations you visited (Idanre Hills – immediately recognised it from your post picture – Ikogosi Warm Springs, Ado-Awaye Mountain), and Olumo Rock.
I totally agree with you; Nigerian Tourism is an untapped gold mine.
Great stuff!
Thank you Stan for reading! I am planning to tour the South East next year and also visit Yankari Game Reserve during the Easter Break (hopefully, I don’t have work then).
Love people that love to travel. How did you pick all my interests? You had a great run this year
Great minds think alike. He he he he
Love that you travel around Nigeria and yeah, our tourism needs to grow more. We have so many beautiful sights in this country. I love travelling too but can’t do much of that now. So, I’m going to start following you on twitter and IG, so I can travel through your eyes.
